John is a Rithmatics student at Armedius Academy.[1]

He and Luc were in Professor Layton's mathematics class with Joel Saxon, indicating that the two Rithmatists needed a remedial course on geometry basics. The two of them usually sat in the rear of the class, and they conveyed a deep disinclination to be in the same class as non-Rithmatists.[1]
