Demoux was originally a captain in Kelsier's rebellion and a general in Elend's army after The Lord Ruler's fall and is currently a known Worldhopper, appearing in the interludes for The Way of Kings as Thinker, the man with the scar across his face that fans have pointed out resembles Demoux's in Mistborn.

Demoux is a loyal man to Kelsier and a terrific leader. Amongst the first recruits of Kelsier's rebellion, Ham quickly promotes him to the rank of captain after he (Ham) assumes leadership in light of Kelsier's absence.

When Kelsier came to inspect the caves it was Demoux who led him around. Answering Kelsier's call for a man who will defend the honor of the rebellion Demoux immediately stepped forward as one of several, being singled out by Kelsier to fight the dissenter Bilg.

Before the fight, Hammond confides to Kelsier that while Demoux's fighting abilities are not great, he is a trustworthy man but he is no match for Bilg in a fair fight. Assisted by Kelsier's Allomancy, Demoux wins the fight and Kelsier seizes the moment to invigorate his troops by proclaiming that Demoux had the arcane arts the Lord Ruler possessed, that they all might possess.

In truth, Kelsier had just guided Demoux's sword with Allomantic Pushes and Pulls.

When Yeden decided to attack a fortified position, others stayed back at the cave believing this was not Kelsier's wish. Demoux was their leader. Here he demonstrated a sharp contrast to Yeden's impulsive nature by being patient and prudent.

In the second book, Well of Ascension, Demoux is suspect to the investigation of an imposter conducted by Vin.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content Believing he is a kandra disguised as Demoux, she follows him through the streets of Luthadel when he sneaks out of Keep Venture. Demoux is revealed to be a preacher for the Church of the Survivor, and views Kelsier as a god.

When he ventures into the mists for the first time in Hero of Ages, Demoux is stricken down by them, as are several others. It's not until the end of the book is it discovered that Demoux has become a Seer, a Misting capable of burning Atium.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

Before that, Demoux and his troops restore order and lend organization to the Terris people who had been flooded with refugees. Demoux and his soldiers maintained law and order and essentially took command, though he showed a respect for the Terris elders – the daughter of one he became romantically involved with, who fell in love with him for his honor and respectability.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

Although a lot of the Seers fell in the last battle, Brandon has confirmed that Demoux survivedCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content, as a promise he had made to his friend, Micah DeMoux, whom the character is named for.
