William Ann Montane was the fourteen year-old daughter of Silence Montane, who lived and helped her mother with the waystop in the Forests of Hell.[1]

William Ann took after her father in appearance, and was already taller than her mother by fourteen.[1] She often complained of awkwardness or being too tall, but Silence thought that these attributes implied that William Ann would be beautiful.
