Template:CharacterInfobox Lord Ferson Penrod was the second king of the Central Dominance. Having before served as senior of the noblemen in the Assembly.

History

When many other nobles left Luthadel after the Lord Ruler's death, Penrod opted to stay and risk the possible danger, hoping to elevate his position. As such he was one of the more powerful noblemen remaining in Luthadel. In the time before the Collapse he was a lesser noble and was said to grovel before the like of Straff Venture at the parties every week, wishing to curry favour. He described as a traditionalist and potically conservative, yet never speaking negatively against the skaa.

He succeeded Elend Venture as king, when the council voted Elend off the throne. Holding the majority of votes against Elend. When Elend saved Luthadel from its siege and became emperor, he left Penrod in the position of King of the Central Dominance.

Ruin took control of Penrod, through with an hemalurgic spike harvested from a copper Misting. Marsh had attacked Penrod and driven the spike through his heart. Yet since Penrod continued living, the surgeons feared removing it and left it in place, giving Ruin a foothold in Penrods mind.

When Vin returns to Luthadel in the Hero of Ages, she passes Keep Venture and finds a dead body, dressed in a nobleman's suit, lying on the floor and assumes that it is Penrod.

Quotes

"Elend, lad" said Lord Penrod. "We all lived here during the Lord Ruler's reign. We all know what kind of man your father is. If he wants this city, he is going to take it. All we can decide, then, is how to best give up. Perhaps we ca find a way for the people to retain some freedom under his rule."
