The Simple Rules were a set of rules that a person had to follow in the Forests of Hell to avoid attracting the attention of shades.[1] Those who broke the Simple Rules were usually quickly killed by the shades.[2]

The Rules

  • Do not kindle a Flame
  • Do not shed blood
  • Do not run during the night.

It was believed that the White Fox could break the Simple Rules because shades would not dare come for her soul.[2]
