Year of Sanderson
Year of Sanderson was a Kickstarter campaign by Dragonsteel Entertainment that released in 2023.[1]
The Kickstarter campaign was announced and went live on March 1, 2022.[2] The campaign became the most successful Kickstarter of all time 185,341 backers pledging $41,754,153.[1]
Rewards
The campaign gave rewards every month, with four new books, called Secret Projects, being released quarterly. Swag boxes, each based around a theme of Brandon's books, were released in the remaining eight months. There was also a free download on Brandon's website, matching the theme of each month.[3] Extra boxes were sold on Brandon's website after the Kickstarter ended.[4]
The Cosmere Character Pin were designed by Isaac Stewart.[3]
January
Tress of the Emerald Sea released on January 1, 2023 as Secret Project 1. It would later have a standard publishing which was released on April 4, 2023.[5] On March 3, 2022, Brandon released the first five chapters along with some brief commentary, which can be read on his website and listened to on his YouTube channel. He also did a full spoiler Q&A about these preview chapters, which can be listened to on his YouTube channel.

A Hoid themed box was released in February.[3] The box included:

A Cytoverse themed box was released in March.[3] The box included:
- Premium M-Bot model
- Doomslug silicone mold

The Frugal Wizard's Handbook for Surviving Medieval England released on April 1, 2023 as Secret Project 2. It would later have a standard publishing which was released on June 27, 2023.[6] On March 10, 2022, Brandon released the first six chapters, along with some brief commentary, which can be read on his website and listened to on his YouTube channel.

A Mistborn themed box was released in May.[3] The box included:
- Mistborn themed metal bookends

- Sel symbol wax seal—with two wax sticks

It would later have a standard publishing which was released on October 3, 2023.[7] On March 17, 2022, Brandon released the first seven chapters, along with some brief commentary, which can be read on his website and listened to on his YouTube channel. He also did a full spoiler Q&A about these preview chapters, which can be listened to on his YouTube channel.

The Sunlit Man released on October 1, 2023 as Secret Project 4. It would later have a standard publishing which was released on March 5, 2024.[8] On March 24, 2022, Brandon released the first ten chapters along with some brief commentary, which can be found on his website, as well as listened to on YouTube.
