Spoiler Policy Reminder

Under our spoiler policy, any content from books that are not fully released is not allowed on the Coppermind. This includes any information from pre-released sample chapters, readings, and other comments Brandon has made about Stormlight 5. The only exception to this rule is on meta-pages for the books themselves (e.g., Wind and Truth). If you are unsure whether the information you want to add comes from pre-release content, please do not add it and instead ask about it on our Discord.

Dai-Gonarthis is believed to be one of the Unmade,sa3 an ancient and terrible spren of Odium.sa3 They also seem to be known as the Black Fisher.sa1

Dai-gonarthis is an unknown being mentioned on Roshar.sa1 He appears to also be called the Black Fisher

In one of the Death Rattles collected by King Taravangian's Silent Gatherers, the dying woman mentions the name Dai-gonarthis.sa1
Hessi posits in Mythica that Dai-Gonarthis may have been involved in the scouring of Aimia, although she's unsure of the specifics. She also expresses uncertainty that they are one of the Unmade at all.sa3 However, it seems likely that Dai-Gonarthis is truly the final Unmade, as Jezrien, in the guise of Ahu, refers to the Black Fisher together with two other Unmade—Re-Shephir and Moelach—during one of his conversations with Dalinar Kholin.sa3 Additionally, the name Dai-Gonarthis is used in a Death Rattle collected by the Silent Gatherers in a manner similar to Death Rattles about the Unmade Re-Shephir and Yelig-nar.sa1sa1sa1

It seems likely that he is an Unmade, due to the similarities in his title and name to Yelig-nar, a known Unmade.sa1 It also mentions the word "consume," which seems to be often used in connection with the Unmade.
Trivia
* The name Dai-Gonarthis is most likely derived from Dagon, an ancient Canaanite deity later reimagined as a Lovecraftian sea god.
