Tenathar is a ranked duelist in Alethkar on Roshar.[1] He is presumably a lighteyed member of the Alethi nobility in Kholinar.
Circa Nan 1166, Tenathar agreed to a dueling match with Adolin Kholin, who was fifteen at the time. It is implied that Tenathar was the first ranked opponent that Adolin ever dueled, and Adolin considered the match his first step towards winning a Shardblade. Adolin eagerly sent his father Dalinar a message to tell him the news of the bout, and then personally invited him to attend the match.[1] The outcome of the duel is unknown. Years later, Adolin recalled being quite nervous before his first ranked duel.[2]
