Glurv is a deserter from the Alethi armies during the War of Reckoning.[1]
At some point in his life, Gurv fought against the Parshendi on the Shattered Plains, but eventually decided to desert the army.[1] Glurv joined a band of deserters in the Frostlands which were lead by Vathah.[2] He was convinced to help defend Macob's caravan by Brightness Shallan Davar. She drew a picture of an idealized Glurv, and which prompted Gaz to ask her for one as well.[1]
