Head of defense in northern Alethkar

He was a highmarshal in service of Highprince Sadeas,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content and had to watch over northern Alethkar while his highprince fought in the Vengeance Pact on the Shattered Plains. Because of the continuous skirmishes at Alethkar's borders he was in permanent need of new soldiers. Eventually he came through Hearthstone for recruitment. Hearthstone's citylord Roshone -- apparently Amaram's distant cousin -- committed Tien to be a recruit what resulted in Kaladin's volunteering due to his wish to protect Tien though Amaram promised Lirin to stint Tien's duty to be a messenger boy.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content Amaram didn't keep his promise and Tien died in his very first battle,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content leaving Kaladin in a bitter grief.

Shardplate and Shardblade

Years later, shortly before the four years tour of Kaladin's duty ended, an unidentified Veden Shardbearer attacked Amaram during one of these border skirmishes. Kaladin fought this Shardbearer but gave the Shardplate and Shardblade to his men.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content Amaram, greedy, killed the survivors of Kaladin's squad before his eyes and took the Shardplate and Shardblade for himself. When Kaladin was a bridgeman in Sadeas's warcamp rumors said that "Amaram the Shardbearer" was on his way to the Shattered Plains.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
