Transcript[edit]

They appear to come in a variety of sizes

They move with a sinuous grace, but unlike skyeels I don't know if the mandras really need to obey any rules of physics.

The wings move in a regular rhythm, but they do not appear to be the source of either locomotion or lift

The shape of the head is exactly the same as the luckspren that can be found accompanying greatshells. I am sure it is no coincidence that they're the same as those that fly beside skyeels

The process by which the sailors steer is incredible to watch. Each mandras is harnessed with a rig of pulleys on each side. To steer in the desired direction the pulleys' ropes are shortened on the corresponding side and then retied to the cleats on the ship's railing.
