It is worth noting that while he may appear as such, it is unclear whether or not Nightblood himself is a Splinter,{{wob ref|3586}} Nightblood is not powerful enough to Splinter a Shard though.{{wob ref|3194}} What Nightblood does is a completely separate process to Splintering.{{wob ref|3863}}
