Yalb was a Thaylen sailor from Roshar.[1]
History
He traveled on The Wind's Pleasure with Shallan and stayed with her as a guide in Kharbranth until she was apprenticed with Jasnah. When she went into a bookstore, he ran in, claiming that the owner's competitor had it cheaper. Shallan gets the book for much cheaper than she would have otherwise. He flirts with Shallan often, even though she is a much higher rank than he is. Yalb has a brother.[2]
Personality
Sly and savvy, but goodwilled by nature, Yalb used his talent to cheat palace guards at cards and to get a reasonable price for Shallan's books at a bookseller.[3] He is audacious and unashamed of his opinions. He is a skilled sailor.
