Took was one of Szeth's masters.[1] He speaks in a Bav dialect, calling Szeth a child. Took traded a sack of seeds for him, but fabricated a story about him swearing to serve him his entire life. Took is an acquaintance of Amark, and offers to sell Szeth to him or one of their other friends. He considers himself a seasoned traveler, although he mainly travels to the same places every few years. Unlike most masters, Szeth does not make Took uncomfortable, considering it natural that Szeth obeys him. While drunk, he claims that he stole a black sphere from the Nightwatcher. Took often tells exaggerated stories. He is cheap enough that he prefers staying in the poor section of towns.[1]
