Longroots were a type of plant native to Roshar.[1]

Longroots were, as their name suggests, a type of long tuber that contained a sticky sap.[1] They grew in cracks in the rock where stormwater collected, and tasted of minerals. As a result, longroots were covered in crem from the highstorms.

Longroots were cheap, and after they were peeled, they could be made into a stew.[1] When Kaladin's family were struggling to get by, due to Roshone, they ate longroots, which were often left secretly by the townspeople of Hearthstone.

Drehy threw some stewed longroot at Lopen after a joke about his readiness.[2]
