A Grandbow was a type of augmenter fabrial attached to a large bow, about as tall as a man. They were designed by Alethi Artifabrians led by Navani Kholin during the War of Reckoning.[1]
The bows have a large enough draw-weight that only someone wearing Shardplate are able to fully draw it. This has led to some calling them Shardbows. The fabrial ensures that the metal of the bow does not warp under the stress of being drawn. The arrows used with a grandbow were as thick as a three fingers, and quite long.[1]
Grandbows were used during a chasmfiend hunt by Highprince Torol Sadeas to attack the chasmfiend while Highprince Dalinar Kholin attacked with his Shardblade.[1]
