Chicken is the name used for all bird species native to Shinovar, on Roshar. Some are in fact chickens as we would see them from our world.^{[citation needed]}

Vstim trades with Thresh and potentially other Shin for chickens which he sells to the other nations of Roshar, and particularly in the east, according to Rysn.

They are often edible. Adolin Kholin is known to eat chicken before duels.
