Navani Kholin is a Brightlady of Alethkar on Roshar.[1] She is King Gavilar Kholin's widow and the mother of Elhokar and Jasnah.[2]
She is a renowned engineer, scholar and artifabrian and is heavily involved in the creation of new fabrials. She is one of the artifabrians who created the Grandbow[2] as well as a type of painrial[3]. Navani is very clever, and she quickly discovers who Adolin is courting, and proceeds to help him romantically within her first days on the Shattered Plains.
When she returns to the Shattered Plains, she frequently speaks with Dalinar Kholin, and later becomes romantically involved with him.
Navani also discovers that the language which Dalinar speaks during his visions is actually the Dawnchant, a formerly lost language, and so proves that his visions are accurate and not the product of insanity.[3]
She later confides in Dalinar that she believes her son King Elhokar to be "weak" because he allows the highprinces to do whatever they want.
