Though he seems to consider it wrong to bring destruction upon the people if [[Canticle]] simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, especially given their shared [[Threnodite]] heritage, it is not a strongly held belief. Truth-Is-Waiting arrives in the Canticle system flying in low orbit on the Night Brigade's warship.{{book ref|tsm|26}} He, along with the Admiral and several other members of the Night Brigade --including at least two [[shade]]s-- descend onto the planet to gather information about [[Nomad]]'s whereabouts.{{book ref|tsm|epilogue}}
At their first encountered settlement, Truth-Is-Waiting commandeers a ship and uses it to pose as a person from a town in another [[Canticle#Cities and Ships|corridor]] who has come seeking explanations.{{book ref|tsm|epilogue}}
Approximately one day after Nomad [[Sigzil#Skipping|Skips]] off the planet, Truth-Is-Waiting confers with the people of one of the planet's floating cities (likely [[Union]]) and learns from them of Nomad's apparent death in a fight with the [[Cinder King]] and of the Scadrian [[Scadrian research facility|research facility]] stationed below the planet's surface.{{book ref|tsm|epilogue}}
