This template is mainly used to referin to named references as such: {{t|ref|name&#61;blah}} so that onedefinitions of the otherindividual [[:Category: Reference templates|reference templates]], canthough bethere referenced shorthand. Sometimes it is also useful to just annotate something withare a reference,few whichcases thiswhere templateit can also beis used for with the {{{text}}} parameter. For most situations the other reference templates should be used as they offer more structuredirectly.
