It's unclear where Tag iswas from, but untilhe recently,was he'snot neverfamiliar been inwith the [[Unclaimed Hills]] during his time as a mercenary. He goeswent there in {{Rosharan date|1173}} along with [[Bluth]] and [[Tvlakv]] as part of a caravan that's was carrying slaves -- —including [[Kaladin]] -- —to the [[Shattered Plains]].{{book ref|sa1|4}} FollowingAlthough theTag altercationwould withsometimes abuse Tvlakv's slaves, he was wary of [[Kaladin]]; following an altercation over thea destroyed map, heTag keepskept his distance from the slave.{{book ref|sa1|4}}{{book ref|sa2|6}}
 
Some time later, Tvlakv's caravan meetsmet up with [[Shallan Davar]], who hashad washed ashore after the sinking of the ''[[Wind's Pleasure]]'',. and heTvlakv allowsallowed her to travel with them to the warcamps.
