He survived the turmoil of the [[Shaod]], and lived for several years in [[Iadon]]s fledgling kingdom.
However, he was taken by the [[Reod]] and cast into Elantris approximately a year before [[Raoden]].
After entering Elantris he assumed the name '''Aandan''' and ruled approximately a third of the cities inhabitants.
After joining Raoden's band Taan largely gave up leadership, reverting to his former role as a sculptor and studying the masterful works that existed throughout the city of Elantris.
