Mercy was involved in a battle between [[Odium]] and [[Ambition]], which resulted in a wound in the [[Spiritual Realm]] and had profound effects on the planet [[Threnody]]. This is likely the battle in which Ambition was Splintered.{{epigraph ref|sa4|27}} Some time around the [[True Desolation]], [[Harmony]] reached out to Mercy about the threat posed by Odium, but became worried by Mercy as a result of their exchange.{{epigraph ref|sa4|25}}

Before [[Aona]]'s shard was known fans speculated it might be Mercy. Brandon found this ironic. {{wob ref|4228}} It was later confirmed Aona does not hold Mercy's Shard.
