At the beginning of the [[Battle of Evensong]], [[Brade]] discussed tactics with Admiral Kage. The admiral reported that the [[Defiant coalition of planets]] had far more inhibitor taynix with them than the [[Superiority]] thought they would have. Brade explained to her that the humans attacking them would be foolish about how much effort they would put into defending the ''[[Defiant (DDF flagship)|Defiant]]'', an insight which Kage questioned at first before accepting Brade's superior knowledge of humans. She also expressed her concern to Brade about summoning the [[delver|delvers]] and received the assurance that they would only call on them if the Superiority could not gain victory on its own.{{book ref|defiant|33}}
