m (The closest I can find to that exact quote is "I have spoken with our friends, and they are quite happy where they are" (HoA epilogue), and even that doesn't say Sazed spoke to them where they are; given the wealth of WoBs about how Brandon doesn't want to give definite answers about the Beyond and documenting how he kind of reversed course on this after HoA, it seems clear this quote is referring to Sazed talking to them in the Cognitive Realm and doesn't feel like it's necessary to add here)

Before someone moves on to the Beyond, their Cognitive aspect can be returned to their physical body with the proper Investiture, both by use of an Invested Art5888mb6sa2sa2.5 or by the act of a Shard.143sa3 It is also possible to escape the pull of the Beyond by entering a perpendicularity and becoming a Cognitive Shadow,157848324 though this method does not restore a person's ties to the Physical Realm.2 Being killed by an unsheathed Nightblood or anti-Investiture prevents a person's mind from being preserved,10440sa414623 though it is unclear if it also prevents a person's mind from going to the Beyond. Vasher has considered that question before, indicating he may be aware of the Beyond to at least some extent.5074 If a person was saved from the Beyond by the direct act of a Shard, the Shard may later choose to withdraw their Investiture, sending the person to the Beyond.sa3 If someone uses Forgery to make themself die, they will not come back from the Beyond when the seal breaks,1601 and it seems unlikely that there is anyway for someone to return from the Beyond.
