(Notes on cosmere page)
Hey Firesong, small request. You (and some others) have a couple of things claimed on the "Tress Cup" spreadsheet, and we're asking people to do just one at a time. We're getting down to a point where there's only a handful left, so I want to make sure things are open unless someone is more or less actively working on it. Would you mind removing your name from all but one at a time? I'm going to go back through later tonight and reassign things myself if needed, but I wanted to give you a chance to pick whichever one you'd like to work on first (or else go ahead and add any work that you have done to the pages).--Jofwu (talk) 18:33, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

: I apologize, but many have already been finished. Midnight Sea, Crimson Sea, Rose Sea, Silver, Sprouter, Kings Mask, Irali, AonDor, and Lumar are all essentiallyessenially finished, in my opinion. Currently I am just working on Fort and finishing up the small amount needed for Emerald Sea, which I feel is almost finished. My return to Lumar earlier today was due to me noticing something that was missing that I didn't notice on the 11th, I believe it is essentially finished now. --Firesong (talk) 19:18, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

:: No worries, I figured that might be the case. :) Thanks! --Jofwu (talk) 16:11, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
:: Yeah, but I still think that I at least need to source what I'm using to calculate the time, especially since the time of The Shattering comes from a WoB.
::: When you want to reference a wob, say ((wob ref|number)), and that number comes from the link to the wob in question. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/145/#e16060, so this would be ((wob ref|16060)), except make the parenthesis into curly brackets. == Cosmere Page References ==
Hey Firesong! Wanted to reach out to respond to your comment in this edit some. With regard to the TLM and MSH citations on interplanetary trade, the string of references you placed those in are all specifically about the "trade of mundane objects" part of the sentence and I had removed them because I couldn't find anything in those chapters that specifically supported that statement. I realize now you were just using them as citations about interplanetary trade in general, so I've moved them to be a bit earlier in the sentence; my apologies for the miscommunication.

With regard to the SotD and Tress citations on Physical Realm FTL, my concern is that, while they're certainly indicative of that being developed by the time of those books, they're not entirely on point for the exact statement the page makes (that "the primary other method available [i.e., other than trekking through the Cognitive] is faster-than-light travel through space in the Physical Realm"). Specifically, I'm not sure those book references really support Physical Realm FTL being the "primary other method available" as opposed to just another option or indeed whether those ships are definitely traveling through the Physical Realm (see this WoB, where Brandon mentions putting spaceships in the Cognitive Realm and doing FTL that way). Thinking about it further, I'm inclined to keep the SotD citation, especially since one of the WoBs there mentions the Ones Above and makes clear they are doing Physical Realm FTL, but the Tress one doesn't seem to add much to me.

On a general note, books are, of course, the only final canon, but WoBs are not a monolith and some are more reliable/less likely to change than others; for example, I'd consider WoBs about the long-term arc of the cosmere, including the space age and the development of FTL, to be pretty solid. To me at least, a reliable and directly on point WoB is a better citation than book references that offer more indirect support for a statement.
