In 2211, a piece of carapace, presumed to be from the recently-missing [[Varvax]] ambassador, is found in a burning station on Evensong, and Ansed is assigned to investigate the case. When [[Jason Write]] arrives at the crime scene, Ansed assumes he had been sent by the [[Phone Company]] to investigate the death, though Jason actually came to retrieve a PC scientist, [[Denise Carlson]], who appears to have gone crazy, and he allows the police department to continue to investigate. Later, Jason realizes that the minds of the ambassador and Denise swapped bodies and that Denise is the one who died in the ambassador's body.{{book ref|Elysium}}
