==History==
Sam was the point man on Val's team. Prior to being assigned to Babilar, he took part in the assassination of [[Puños de Fuego]] in Mexico alongside Val.{{book ref|firefight|31}} He was a mentor to [[Missouri Williams]] when she first joined the Reckoners.{{book ref|firefight|9}} He was the first to learn to use the [[spyril]].{{book ref|firefight|18}} While observing [[Megan Tarash|Megan]] in Babilar, Sam went against Val's orders to confront her. He attempted to shoot her, but she outdrew him and shot him in self defense.{{book ref|firefight|40}} Mizzy held a grudge against Megan, whom she knew as Firefight, for the death of Sam, and swore revenge.{{book ref|firefight|20}}
