'''Walin''' is a prisoner at the [[Pits of Hathsin]] on [[Scadrial]]. Like most prisoners in the Pits he has many long cuts on his arms.{{book ref|mb1|32}}

HeWalin was sent to the [[Pits of Hathsin]] as punishment for trying to steal food from his plantation master.{{book ref|mb1|32}}

LikeHe mostwas prisonersbarely fed inat the Pits he has many long cuts on his arms. He was barely fed, his fingers kept searching for geodes instinctively and he was too tired to care about entering the mists or getting beaten. Walin usually climbed up to the surface to sleep, but thenas he was an older man, he had to look out for younger, stronger men who wouldmight attack him to steal his [[atium]] geode.

Walin iswas eventually freed by [[Kelsier]], who was about to destroy the mines, just after managinghe managed to find an atium geode onthe his seventhfinal day of the week,. althoughAlthough athe first he thinksthought that Kelsier wantswanted to steal his geode, andafter hebeing leavesencouraged by Kelsier, Walin left the Pits to sell itthe atium to secure his freedom.{{book ref|mb1|32}}
