I started reading Brandon's works in 2015 and have been following the community on and off since then. Finally decided to start contributing here in 2019. I'm new to editing wikis, so I'm mostly going to be using this for figuring that out.
I started reading [[Brandon Sanderson|Brandon]]'s works in 2015 and have been following the community on and off since then. I finally decided to start contributing here in 2019. I've got some miscellaneous resources and notes on this page, as well as a vague list of [[#Projects]] and my [[#Subpages]].
 
I'm also a [[Coppermind:Keepers|Keeper]] and member of the [[Coppermind:Synod|Synod]], which basically means I'm someone you can come to if you want some help getting started on the Coppermind, have any questions about wiki policies or guidelines, want some advice on how to handle something, think there's something that needs to be done that you don't have permissions for, run into an issue with another editor, or otherwise need help with something Coppermind-related. I often take inspiration for edits from things I see in [[Special:RecentChanges]] so if I edit something you just did, it's probably not because you did anything wrong, I just saw something else on the page that I thought could be improved.

[[Special:Diff/114568|My thousandth edit]] came in the middle of a spree to fix the book parameter in all the [[Skyward (series)|Skyward]] infoboxes and [[Special:Diff/169139|my ten thousandth edit]] was adding a disambiguation note to between Tindwyl and Tindwyl Ladrian (I note that only so that I can remember in five years exactly which page it was).

Cognitive Shadows can be created by a variety of processes. Some of them are created when a person has sufficient attachment to something in the Physical Realm. When a [[Vessel]] that has held onto a [[Shard]] for a long time dies it becomes a Cognitive Shadow that can continue to act.{{wob ref|1391}} The Cognitive aspect of a recently deceased person can become a Cognitive Shadow by finding a source of Investiture to anchor themselves to the Cognitive Realm before passing on to the Beyond. The Investiture replaces the parts of the soul that connects it to the Three Realms, providing an anchor for it in the Cognitive Realm. {{wob ref|857}} Some [[Vessel]]s can prepare a Cognitive Shadow at or just prior to their death or [[Splinter|Splintering]], allowing a portion of their power to continue to function with a small amount of direction; the [[Stormfather]] is an example of this.{{wob ref|8439}}
