== History ==
Restares became the leader of the Sons of Honor, it is unknown if he founded the group himself or took charge of it later. He had Gavilar Kholin enter the group and this allowed him to later help expand the their influence further on [[Roshar]].{{book ref|sa3|40}} The [[Sons of Honor]] were primarily founded so as to ensure the return of the [[Herald]]s by restarting the [[Desolations]], Restares and Gavilar Kholin had additional plans for the group and used it to further these goals.{{book ref|sa4|7}}{{book ref|sa4|4}} Upon learning of Gavilars plans Restares responded favorably to them and they began to conspire together, {{book ref|sa4|82}} meetings were held where they would meet in person with their final one taking place on the night Gavilar was to die.{{book ref|sa4|prologue}} Upon his death Restares was one of the people Gavilar suspected of ordering his assassination, in actuality however Restares did no such thing.{{book ref|sa1|prologue}}

After Gavilar's death Restares continued to lead the Sons of Honor and replaced Gavilar with Amaram as his main partner. The majority of their communication took place through [[spanreed]].{{book ref|sa2|88}} After conferring together following the attempted assassination of Amaram by [[Helaran Daver]], it was decided to take the Shards that [[Kaladin]] had won and murder any witnesses to this crime.{{book ref|sa1|51}} During this time Amaram was ordered to investigate the mysteries of [[Urithiru]] and upon seeing how far he had progessed [[Mraize]] feared that he was close to achieving this goal.{{book ref|sa2|54}} Following the [[Battle of Narak]], Amaram wrote to Restares via spanreed that the Sons of Honor were successful in their goal of bringing the [[Voidbringer]]s back to Roshar, with the hopes the [[Herald]]s would also return as well as informing him about the arrival of the [[Everstorm]].{{book ref|sa2|88}}
Restares had a [[spanreed]] to Amaram, which was sometimes carried by Amaram's carriage driver, [[Pama]].{{book ref|sa2|88}} After [[Kaladin]] saved Amaram's life and kills [[Helaran Davar]], Restares advised that Amaram take the [[Shardblade]] and [[Shardplate]], and to kill the witnesses and pretend that Amaram personally won the Shards. The deliberation took hours, but eventually Amaram agreed, thinking it had to be done for the good of [[Alethkar]]. This resulted in Kaladin's enslavement, and the deaths of the last surviving members of his squad, [[Hab]], [[Reesh]], [[Alabet]], and [[Coreb]].{{book ref|sa1|51}}
