He bringsbrought Kaladin and a number of other slaves to the [[Shattered Plains]], where he sellssold them in [[Shattered Plains|Sadeas's warcamp]] for use in their [[bridge crew]]s. In a manner consistent with his unscrupulous ways, though, he claimed that none of the slaves had paid down any of their debt.{{book ref|sa1|6}}

Months after selling [[Kaladin]] into slavery, Tvlakv iswas in camp with [[Bluth]] and [[Tag]] when [[Shallan]] approachesapproached and fallsfell unconscious, exhausted from her time on her own after the shipwreck. He wakeswoke [[Shallan]]her up the next morning and tellstold her that they willwould be leaving, and she requestsrequested to travel with them. In doing so, she turnsturned them back around to travel back north to the Shattered Plains.{{book ref|sa2|11}} During this time, he givesgave her a minimal amount of comfort and care in order to make her more dependent upon his services, not even affording her proper shoes. Although she originally thought to use him as an escort, he instead thinksthought that he willwould be selling her off to the ones who are expecting her at the Shattered Plains.{{book ref|sa2|15}}

During her first confrontation with him, Shallan mentionsmentioned that if he doesdid as requested and takestook her safely to the Shattered Plains, he willwould "be freed." Although she was guessing at the time, it appears that she guessed well and that he had been in some kind of deep debt or indentured servitude. After being told to "stuff his schemes deep in a crevice", he did exactly that, and planned no more to betray her.{{book ref|sa2|15}}

After they begin being chased by [[Vathah]] and his band of deserters, heTvlakv suggestssuggested pulling off and allowing them to attack the richer bounty ahead as a distraction, but he iswas overruled by Shallan. His caravan goeswent up as far as the spot of the earlier battle, where they meetmet [[Tyn]] and notice[[Macob]] and noticed the deserters arewere advancing upon them.{{book ref|sa2|20}}

At this stage, [[Shallan]] takestook off to recruit these men to their side.{{book ref|sa2|20}} Tvlakv survivessurvived the battle, after which [[Shallan]] takestook the 5five slaves remaining to him, and buysbought the thirdnow-surplus wagon for 5five {{spheres|sapphire broams}}, leavingthough she left him incrediblyhis insulted[[parshmen]]. andIncredibly heinsulted, Tvlakv leavesleft to return south again.She does not take his [[parshmen]] however.{{book ref|sa2|21}}
