Tukar is a theocracy, with their current spiritual and political leader, Tezim, being alternately titled the god-priest, god-king, and priest-king.{{book ref|sa2.5|3}}{{book ref|sa3|64}}{{book ref|sa3|65}} The Tukari people also live in clans.{{book ref|Sa4|36}}
Unlike other Makabaki states, which consider [[Herald]]s to be gods, the Tukari worship the [[Almighty]], much like the eastern nations.
