In the final few days of year 1173, a former slave known as [[Kaladin Stormblessed]], who had bonded a [[honorspren]] named [[Sylphrena]],{{book ref|sa1|57}} swore the third [[Immortal Words|Ideal]] of the [[Windrunners]].{{book ref|sa2|84}} This allowed Syl the ability to become a Shardblade, returning the knowledge of the origins of Shardblades to mankind.
