Mik is a boy with a flat, round face. Lift associates this with people who "weren't born quite the same as other folk" {{book ref|sa2.5|6}}. He has a large scar on his head, and no hair grows on that area of his head. When he leaves [[Tashi's Light Orphanage]], the scar is gone.

 

[[Lift]] meets him outside Tashi's Light Orphanage where he is mute and looks to have a head wound.{{book ref|sa2.5|6}} His mother leaves him, but was very upset that she had to, and was crying. He was about 10 or 11. He is drooling, and is incapable of communicating. Lift hugs him, but nothing changes. After being taken in by [[Stump|the Stump]] he is slowly healed by her.{{book ref|sa2.5|20}} He begins to communicate and talk, and eventually his mom takes him back.
