It is speculated that Iyatil is the 'Visitor' encountered by the [[Shardpool]] in [[Shadows of Self]]
Although not yet proven it is highly likely that Iyathil is originally from [[Scadrial]], specifically the lands to the [[Southern Peoples of Scadrial|south]] of the Elendel Basin where the people were sequestered away by the [[Lord Ruler]] during his ascension. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto [[Mraize]], it is likely she belongs to the caste known as "Hunters"{{book ref|mb6|22}} within that society.
