Human, when pushed, showedshows [[Vin]] how koloss wereare made, and servedserves Vin to a very limited degree for a short time, although hating her by his own admission. He is also one of the koloss that discovers the empty [[atium]] cache in the [[kandra Homeland]] just beforeprior to [[Ruin]]'s death.

Before he was spiked to become a koloss, Human was a [[skaa]] rebel known as Vershad. He was the leader of a rebellion in the southeast of the [[Final Empire]], in the same area where [[Clubs]] fought in his youth. Vershad lived in the desert outside the borders of the Final Empire, and crossed the border to raid outlying villages and steal supplies.

Human's metmeet [[Elend]] and Vin shortly after they exposedexpose villagers to the [[mist]]s outside of [[Vetitan]] in order to inoculate them. He diffuseddiffuses Vin's assumption that all koloss wereare of a homogeneous mentality - "just the same stupid beast repeated over and over", in her words - with his observations and remarks. This continuedcontinues inas followingthey scenesspend withmore thetime two of themtogether, where sheVin discerneddiscerns that he could use fair logic and has somewhat keen observations. However, she wasis puzzled by Human's insistence that he wasis human.{{book ref|mb3|8}}

Later, Human again insistedinsists that he wasis human, and expressedexpresses the desire for human things, such as a house. Vin attemptedattempts to explain that he couldncan't have those things, because human ways are not the same as koloss ways, stating that humans don't kill someone because they make them feel uncomfortable. Human observedobserves that instead of killing each other, humans just use koloss to kill one another.

Vin questionedquestions Human about the mists, whether he and the other koloss fearedfear them. He respondedresponds by stating that mist does not kill, thus it is nothing to fear, just like any other weather. But he continuedcontinues his line of thought, and stated that he hates the mists, because he can feel their hatred of him, and reckognisedrecognises that Vin feltfeels the same; that the mists hate her. This was, of course,is due to having [[hemalurgy|hemalurgic]] spikes, but nietherneither of the two realisedrealise this at the time.{{book ref|mb3|15}}

Yet again later, shortly after [[Aradan Yomen]]'s attack upon Elend's camp, Human surprises Vin with the first known indication of values from a koloss, stating that it's not right that he shows her how koloss are made. Vin Pushes Human [[Allomancy|Allomantically]] to get him to reveal how koloss are created, and he screamedscreams, then proceededproceeding to run into the army's human camp with a dead koloss, and immediately attemptedattempts to take the hemalurgic spikes from the koloss and place them into a wounded human soldier, but Vin stoppedstops him, and finally discovereddiscovers how koloss are created. Human once again statedstates that he is human.{{book ref|mb3|37}}

During the final conflict between [[Ruin]] and [[Preservation]], ([[Ati]] and Vin) Human leadleads koloss soldiers inside the underground tunnels of the kandra Homeland, all under the influence of Ruin. Human wasis aware that it wasis Ruin controlling him, and that Ruin wasis far more powerful than Vin. Ruin forcedforces Human and his soldiers to ignore the humans in order to find the atium, and he enteredenters the kandra atium storage, only to find it completely empty of all the atium.{{book ref|mb3|81}}

When [[Harmony]] ([[Sazed]]) tooktakes up the power and beganbegins to restore Scadrial to what it had been before the Lord Ruler tookreshaped upthe world using the power at the Well of Ascension over one thousand years priorearlier, Human and the other koloss soldiers with him wereare still in the underground tunnels, and survivedsurvive the reshapingrestoration of Scadrial as Harmony reshapes the worldplanet again. Harmony alteredalters these surviving koloss to become true-breeding, although it is not known how this was achieved.{{annotation ref|mb3|chapter=81-2}}
