When the [[Veden]] [[Shardbearer]] attacked Amaram, slaying [[Toorim]], [[Acis]], [[Raksha]], and others, Hab tripped on Toorim's corpse, which made Hab drop his spear.{{book ref|b|sa1|c|47}} Kaladin managed to kill the Shardbearer, leaving Hab, [[Alabet]], [[Reesh]], and [[Coreb]] the last four members of Kaladin's squad.

Later that day, Amaram betrayed Kaladin, and though Hab had his knife out, one soldier quickly gutted him.{{book ref|b|sa1|c|51}}
