He grants Renarin the powers of the [[Truthwatchers]], an order of the [[Knights Radiant]]{{book ref|sa2|89}} which gives Renarin access to the [[Surge]]s of Illumination and Progression.{{ref|name=surgechart}} However, Renarin also has visions, which are also possible due to Glys' bond. This bond caused Renarin to hear screams when touching his killed [[Shardblade]], which he initially believed to be a sign of his weakness or possibly insanity. Glys explained otherwise and told Renarin which order of Radiants he had joined.{{book ref|sa2|89}}
== Appearance ==
While we have not yet seen Glys in his spren form, we have seen him in Blade form, in Oathbringer Chapter 10, when Renarin reluctantly shows him to Adolin:
"He took a deep breath, then stretched his hand to the side and summoned a long glowing Shardblade. Thin, with almost no crossguard, it had waving folds to the metal, like it had been forged."
