Gaz hadhas a beard, but his face wasis scarred so it only grewgrows in patches. He hadhas a single brown eye and diddoes not wear an eyepatch over his missing one. He is described as being very short for an Alethi man.
Gaz wasis a greedy man who, like most bullies, quickly backs down when confronted. For some reason he hadhas to pay back debts to [[Lamaril]]. He wasis among the more antagonistic towards [[Kaladin]], often taking special delight in attempting to kill off [[Bridge Four]]. He diddoes, however, accept Kaladin's bribes so that Kaladin couldcan stay in control of Bridge Four.
He disappeareddisappears in the latter half of the book which is revealed to be because of desertion.
Shallan encounteredencounters Gaz with a group of deserters in the Frostlands. She vowedvows to give them pardons upon returning to the Shattered Plains if they accompaniedaccompany her there. Shallan's respectful treatment of Gaz improvedimproves his attitude towards his position and mademakes him extremely loyal towardsto her. Upon returning to the Shattered Plains he receivedreceives his pardon and gainedgains a permanent position as one of Shallan's bodyguards.
