Gaz has a beard, but his face is scarred so it only grows in patches.He is described as being very short for an Alethi man. He disappears after one of the bridgeruns,{{book ref|sa1|57}} which is revealed to be because of desertion.Later [[Hashal]] takes care to deflect any of [[Kaladin]]s questions regarding where he went to, as she did not want the bridgemen to know that even their superior had deserted.
