Braches knew [[Alendi]], the presumed [[Hero of Ages]], and told him tales of islands in the south of Scadrial that have volcanoes.{{book ref|mb1|29}} He was known for his inquisitive nature, and once promised Alendi that he would investigate the [[Feruchemy|Feruchemical]] powers of [[Rashek]] and the rest of the [[Terris]] packmen who accompanied Alendi to the [[Well of Ascension]].{{book ref|mb1|22}}
