The Unclaimed Hills are part of the Frostlands bordering Alethkar to the east. Gavilar proposes an expedition to the Unclaimed Hills, where they encounter Parshendi with gemstones woven in their beards, which leads to their discovery of great-shelled beasts, the source of the Parshendi's gems. The Shattered Plains are in the Unclaimed Hills. The hills are rocky, covered with tough, retractable grasses, spiny plants, and scrub.
