;Plot Summary
Marasi and the other Allomancers from the Community start quickly drawing in the power in the pool, and Marasi charges her Allomantic grenades. She tells the others to use up the power using their Allomancy. The enemy troops on the other side start to come through the portal, but Marasi drops both of her grenades through the portal, mentally commanding the portal to allow them to pass through. With the enemy troops temporarily frozen in speed bubbles, Marasi and the other Allomancers successfully use up the last of the power in the well.

;Plot Summary
Wayne attacks Dumad, grappling him to stay close. Dumad is annoyed, and tells Wayne to fight Getruda so that he can face Wax. Wayne holds on to Dumad, even as he flies through the air using Steelpushes. Dumad manages to latch a set of handcuffs onto one of Wayne's wrists, and eventually knocks Wayne off him. While Wayne fights Dumad, Wax engages Getruda, eventually using a doorknob and other pieces of metal to repeatedly batter her and break her bones. Though she uses her metalminds to heal herself, Wax's attacks show him where her metalminds are. He uses a hazekiller round to blow her arm off, separating her from her source of healing. When Getruda comes at him again, Wax kills her with a shot to the head.

Wayne locks the free end of the handcuffs onto Dumad's wrist, and Dumad uses a Duralumin-enhanced Steelpush to send them both flying into the air. Dumad tries to replenish his metals, but finds that Wayne had stolen his vial of metals from his pocket. They fall from a great height into a building. Dumad is killed by the fall, but Wayne survives due to his healing. Wax meets up with Wayne, and puts in his Hemalurgic earring to talk to Harmony.

=== Chapter 67 ===
Wax tells Harmony that he can kill men, but not a god. Harmony doesn't know if Wax can kill Telsin, but says he can temporarily stun her and interrupt her Connection to Autonomy. Wax takes himself and Wayne up to the rooftop of the Shaw, where Telsin is waiting with the rocket. She seems confident, distracting Wax with conversation. Wax senses that something is wrong, and knocks over the rocket with a Steelpush. When the hollow bomb falls to the ground, Wax realizes that it is a decoy, and that the real bomb is on one of Bilming's warships, on the way to Elendel. As Wax tries to figure out a way to stop the ship in time, Telsin gloats and tells Wax about her hatred of him. Wax tells Harmony to sever Telsin's connection to Autonomy, and she collapses on the rooftop.

Steris stands in a train station, overseeing the evacuation of civilians in Elendel. Varlance approaches her and informs her that Bilming has dispatched a single warship to Elendel. Steris concludes that the bomb is on the ship, and Reddi informs her that they have only hours until the ship arrives. Varlance tells Steris that they should flee, but Steris refuses, saying that Wax will stop the ship before it reaches Elendel. She tells Varlance that they need to start evacuating the civilians nearest the bay, and to prepare for a possible tsunami. Varlance still wants to flee, but Steris convinces him to stay and help with the evacuation.

;Plot Summary
Wellid, a volunteer sailor on the Pewternauts A16, keeps watch on deck amid the darkness. He hears a thump, and finds Waxillium on the ship, accompanied by Wayne. Wax reveals a large Hemalurgic spike pounded through his chest.

Telsin awakens on the rooftop of the Shaw, and feels that Autonomy has left her. An engineer informs her that Wax and Wayne took spikes from Getruda and Dumad, one of which was made of duralumin. Autonomy tells Telsin that her failure has begun, and that she is not worthy.

Wax gets Wellid to tell him where the bomb is, and they go down to the ship's hold to investigate it. As they go, Wayne tries out his new Steelpushing abilities. Harmony fills them in on the workings of the bomb. He tells them that it's comprised of three bombs, and that disarming one of them will immediately set off the other two. He also says that Autonomy underestimates how large the explosion will be, and says that it could vaporize Elendel, Bilming, and other cities as well.

;Plot Summary
Steris and Varlance are directing the evacuation and preparations at the city docks when eight Ghostbloods arrive to offer their assistance. Steris starts giving detailed orders to everyone present. Varlance is amazed at the depth of her contingency planning, and tells her that her talents have been previously wasted. Steris orders the cargo ships in the harbor to be sunk, but is told that it will take too long. The members of the Ghostbloods offer their services, and go to sink the ships.

;Plot Summary
=== Chapter 72 ===
Wax and Wayne clear out the ship and arrive at the bridge, and find that the ship's controls are wired to the bomb and rigged to explode if anyone messes with the ship's course. Wayne figures out a way to lessen the explosion of the bomb, using bendalloy and steel. Harmony says it could work, and tells Wax to get out the vial he'd been given. Wayne already has it, having traded for it earlier. Knowing that his plan won't need Wax, Wayne uses a Steelpush to send Wax flying off the ship and far out into the sea.

Harmony informs Wayne that the vial contains a small bit of lerasium, created by Wax's experiments with splitting harmonium. As Wayne goes down to the hold where the bomb is, Harmony tells him that he's the only person in the world who can stop the bomb, and that he's the best there is. Wayne asks if stopping the bomb will earn him forgiveness, and Harmony tells him that he doesn't need forgiveness anymore. Wayne asks for a hat, and Harmony gives Wayne his own.

At Harmony's command, Wayne creates a perfect speed bubble. He encloses all three barrel devices, but excludes the device that coordinates the bombs' explosions. He burns duralumin and bendalloy at the same time, compressing immensely within the bubble. One by one, he fills all three barrels with water and Pushes them outside the bubble, detonating the ettmetal inside. The bubble drops, and Wayne is consumed by the explosion.

Wayne exults in his victory, happy to have saved the world, and declares that he is the best constable that ever lived. Harmony tells Wayne that he did, which gives Wayne great happiness to know. Wayne tells Harmony to tell Steris that fact, and then stretches away into the Beyond.
