After the [[Collapse]] Venture was crowned to rule over the [[Central Dominance]]. He worked on a whole new constitution with the aim to give the [[Skaa]] workers a chance to get involved in politics.
After the [[Battle of Luthadel]], when [[Elend Venture]] takes control of [[Ashweather Cett|Cett]]'s and [[Straff]]'s armies, he establishes the New Empire.

During the first year a board was the center of the New Empire. It consisted of 24 members, including 8 Skaa, 8 [[Noble]]s (inclusive of the king himself) and 8 tradesmen. This structrure was abolished after the [[Siege of Luthadel]]. Henceforward the New Empire was a monarchy under King Venture and his wife [[Vin]].
