Elend then founded the [[New Empire]] and sought out the supply caches left by the Lord Ruler. He laid siege to [[Fadrex City|Fadrex]] to discover the cache hidden there, which lead to allying with [[Yomen]]. Elend eventually realised the meaning of the pattern of the mist-sickness which snapped allomancers, he also discovered the [[Atium#Allomantic Use|Seers]] in his army were the ones sick the longest, he used this knowledge to lead the Seers in battle against the Koloss armies commanded by Ruin which depleted all of the [[Atium]]. He was eventually killed by Marsh, which gave Vin the drive to attack Ruin directly resulting in both of their deaths and the [[Final Ascension]].

He has viewpoints in all three books, but is only a primary character in the second two.
