Elantris was written in a chapter triad system, rotating the primary viewpoints from Raoden to Sarene to Hrathen. Part 1 and Part 2 each contained 27 chapters, or 9 triads. The triad structure broke down in Part 3, which consisted of 9 chapters.{{
