The '''Eastern Crownlands''' was an area of land in the southeastern part of [[Alethkar]].{{map ref|Alethkar}} As the Eastern Crownlands did not appear to be attached to any highprince, it seems likely that they were the property of [[Elhokar]], the king of Alethkar. ==History==
The Eastern Crownlands is one of the areas conquered during [[Gavilar]] Kholin's quest to unite Alethkar into a single kingdom. The city of Rathalas and its leaders rebelled against Gavilar's rule both before and after the unification of the country. After attempts to politically quell the situation fail, [[Dalinar]] Kholin and [[Torol]] Sadeas march on Rathalas and raze the city to set an example for the other highprinces. During this battle, Dalinar's wife, [[Evi]] Kholin, is killed.
