'''Alta Base''' is a military outpost on the surface of [[Detritus]], directly above [[Igneous Cavern]]. It acted as the main base of the [[DDF]]{{book ref|Skyward|3}}, until they pushed back the [[varvax|Krell]] and reclaimed some of the planet's old defensive platforms. Since then, the main DDF base has been [[Platform Prime]]{{book ref|sky2|2}}. It contains the only trees on Detritus.{{book ref|sky1|7}}
