Professor Cynder traveled with [[Khrissalla]], [[Baon]], and [[Jon Acron]] to visit Dayside. When passing through [[Ker Kedasha]] he was barely able to understand some of a speech delivered by the [[A'Kar]].{{book ref|ws1|3}}
After losing their guide and running out of water, Cynder and Baon found [[Kenton]] and helped revive him.{{book ref|ws1|3}} When Kenton and the travelling party are ambushed by Kerztian warriors on their way to [[Kezare]], Cynder was shot in the arm by a [[zinkall]] arrow.
Upon the group's discovery of [[Lonzare]], Cynder is thrilled by the mixing of Darkside and [[Lossand]]in culture. He suspects that a pidgin between [[Dynastic]] and Lossandin may be developing among the people living there.
The lock on Cynder's luggage malfunctioned and was repaired by Khriss as she sought meetings with the [[Taishin]].
